I'm still trying to figure out whether I liked this more or less than "Are You Experienced?" I think as a whole it seemed to fit together better, but there were also less standout moments than his previous album. I found more of the songs enjoyable to listen to, but you don't have anything as memorable as "Purple Haze". The positive is that Hendrix's voice seems to flow better with the music than it did before. Everything seemed more cohesive.
Regardless, Hendrix is an interesting guy. You can't help but be fascinated by him while listening to the music, and reflecting on the guy who barely got to experience the full effect of his career. He sort of hit it big, and then that was it. There was no passing of his time, or whatever because he passed during the height of his fame. His music was classic way before my time just because of that.
