38 of 1001 Albums: The Beatles' With the Beatles

So I didn't notice until now, but I noticed their name isn't actually spelled like "beetle". Though it was initially until they changed it. I found it interesting their name originated as paying homage to Buddy Holly and The Crickets. Though they are one of of the biggest names every in music their music spurred from others before them.
It's difficult to deny that we are definitely in the 60s now with probably one of the most popular bands to come from that era. Even in high school, which was only 5 years ago, I probably heard about them more than any other band that was popular while I was there. I expected this album to be good though. I've heard The Beatles before, and never disliked their music. They weren't the first band I've turned to listen to either. Actually, I probably didn't really check out their music till after watching Across the Universe, which I'm sure hardcore Beatles' fans probably despise, or at least that is what I've observed.
I think one of the things most look forward to is hearing how their music changed over the years. They started out to be sort of poppy, and huge draw to females, and in later years they went very hippy causing their name to be made in rock.
The album is good though. There are a few stand outs that I enjoy, and some I probably would never listen to again. I recognized quite a few though that were my favorites already.
